Task and Milestones view showing that a task has messages linked to it

updated on February 10, 2010 by Keith Binding
HI guys, unless I've missed it I can't find any way in either the expanded Milestones view or the Task view of identifying whether a task has messages linked to it and, if so, of clicking through to them. Is this correct? If so it makes it very cumbersome indeed to check whether or not there is a message stream associated with a task as one has to switch to Task view.
Thanks
Keith

1. TeamWork L., on version 2:
Currently, we don't identify tasks or milestones that have messages in the overview pages. We do identify tasks or milestones with comments however. The intention is for comments to be used for discussions about an item and to use messages for transient, time-sensitive discussions (such as a request for an update on its status). As a result, we have added alerts to the dashboard for new messages so you know when you have new messages to view but we don't identify items with new messages after the message has been viewed.

We would suggest that you use comments for discussions and messages for time-sensitive requests. Please let us know how you are using message if it differs from what we suggest and we will try to improve the functionality to work better with you.

To add a comment to a milestone or a task, you will need to click on the name of the milestone or task from the overview page to view the milestone's or task's detail page. Select the "Comments" tab from the bottom of the detail page and select "Add comment" to add a comment.
