Tasks Overview

You can create tasks to track the things you need to get done in a project. You can set a due date for a task, assign them to project members, and associate them with milestones.

    Only the task creator and the project administrator have the ability to mark a task as completed for everyone. A person assigned to the task can only mark it as completed for themselves.

    What is the "Needs Approval From" field used for?
    The "Needs Approval From" field is used to specify who needs to approve a task after it has been completed. A completed task that requires approval will appear in the approver's dashboard. The approver can then approve the task or reopen it for further action.

    1. Go to the edit page for the task (select "Edit" instead of "Quick Edit").
    2. Change the "Project" option to the new project.
    3. Save the task.

    Note that you will only be able to move a task to another project if you created the task or you are the project administrator.

    No, the subtasks are shared amongst all the people assigned to the task. When any responsible user marks a subtask as completed, it will be shown as completed for all users.

    If you are adding a task from the "My tasks" tab on your dashboard, you will need to first select the project for the task in order for the list of team members to be updated with your team members. Otherwise, the task is considered a personal task and can only be assigned to yourself.
