Folders Overview

Please click the "Tutorial" link on the top right corner of the folders page to view a quick tutorial of the folders section.

Shared Folders

Each project workspace has a set of folders that you can use to share files with your project members. Folders are sorted alphabetically unless you customize the sorting using the drag-and-drop reordering support. If you sort the folders, they will be shown with the same sorting to all team members and clients.

You have the ability to specify view permissions for items you put in a folder.

Folder Contents Ordering Options

When creating folders, you can specify how its contents should be sorted. The available options are:
Item name (a-z) Folder contents are arranged alphabetically by their names. Arranging items alphabetically makes it easier to find them quickly.
Arranged order You arrange the items in the order you want them displayed. You can reorder the items by dragging the items by their drag bars to their new positions. The drag bar for an item appears when you move your cursor over the item. New items are placed at the bottom of the list.
Newest to oldest Recently created items are placed at the top of the folder. This ordering is useful if you have a blog or journal folder and you want the newest entries to appear first.
Oldest to newest Items are shown in the order in which they are created. Older items are listed first.
Recently changed first Recently modified items are placed at the top of the folder.
Start date Items with a start date are shown first in the order in which they begin, followed by items without a start date.
Due date Items with a due date are shown first in the order in which they become due, followed by items without a due date.

Creating Items Via Email

You can add items to your project workspace via email simply by forwarding your emails to the drop-box address shown in the "Items Created Via Email" folder description. When you forward an email to the drop-box address, the email, along with any attachments, will be converted into an online document and put in the "Items Created Via Email" folder. Drag-And-Drop Reordering of Items in a Folder

If you set the "Order items by" option to "Arranged order" when creating a folder, you will be able to reorder the items in the folder by dragging the items to their new positions using the drag bars. The drag bars appear when you move your mouse over an item.

Moving Items Between Folders

You can move an item from one folder to another by dragging it by its drag bar to the new folder. You can copy an item to another folder by holding the Ctrl key (or the Command key for Macs) while dragging the item to the new folder.

Duplicating Folders

You can use the duplicate folder feature to quickly copy the contents of a folder to another workspace. This can be useful if you would like to make a set of files available in another project.

Folder RSS Feed

All folders that have not been marked private have an RSS feed that project members can subscribe to. Users who subscribe to this feed (using an RSS feed reader) will be automatically notified when new items are added to the folder.

I've reordered my folders using the drag-and-drop feature but now I want them sorted alphabetically. How do I do that?
Once you have reordered the folders using the drag-and-drop feature, the folders will remain in that order. New folders will be added to the bottom of the list. If you want to return the folders list to alphabetical sorting, you will need to manually drag-and-drop the folders so that they are in alphabetical order. Once this is done, all new folders will be sorted alphabetically when added.

Does TeamWork Live support a forum functionality?
TeamWork Live currently does not have a forum functionality but you can mimic the functionality using the folders section. To do so, create a folder for each forum topic. You should set the view preference to blog. You can then create a document as the first post in the discussion. Team members can participate by adding comments.
