Help With Creating and Editing Folders

The folder creation/edit window allows you to create and edit your folders. The window appears when you click the [Add folder] button or the [edit] link for a folder from the workspace page or project workspace page.

What are the default permission settings for a folder?

  1. Enter the name of the folder here.
  2. Enter an optional description for the folder.
  3. Check this box to mark the folder private. Only you can view folders marked private.

  1. Select a folder to put this folder within another folder.
  2. Select the default ordering that should be used when displaying the pages in this folder. Some folders might benefit from a certain type of ordering (for example, newest first for folders containing timesheets). See page ordering options below.
  1. Select who can view and add pages to this folder. If you selected a team, the folder becomes a team folder. If you are currently viewing a project workspace, the selection will default to the current team; otherwise, the seletion will default to everyone.

Page Ordering Options

Page name (a-z) Pages are arranged alphabetically by the name of the pages. Arranging pages alphabetically makes it easier to quickly find pages.
Page name (z-a) Pages are arranged reverse alphabetically by the name of the pages.
Arranged order You arrange the pages in the order you want the pages to be displayed. You can reorder the pages in the folder by clicking [reorder pages] link next to the sort selection, drag the pages to their new positions, and then clicking the [save new order] link. Newly created pages are placed at the end of the folder by default.
Newest to oldest More recently created pages are placed at the beginning of the folder. This ordering is useful if you have a blog or journal folder and you want the newest entries to appear first.
Oldest to newest Pages are shown in the order in which they are created. More recent pages follow older pages.
Recently changed first More recently modified pages are placed at the beginning of the folder.
Start date Pages with a start date are shown first in ascending chronological order, followed by pages without a start date.
Due date Pages with a due date are shown first in the order in which they become due, followed by pages without a due date.
