What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It allows information to be published in a standard XML format that can be subscribed to using feed reader software. Microsoft Outlook as well as many other email programs support RSS.

Why does my upcoming milestones or upcoming tasks list show the milestones and tasks of my team members?

The upcoming milestones and tasks lists for a team member usually only show the milestones and tasks for that team member. For a client, the upcoming milestones and tasks lists show all the upcoming milestones and tasks for all the projects the client has been invited to.

People who have internal projects without clients sometimes use the "clients" list to create a second group of team members that have more limited permissions. This is useful if you are inviting contractors or other external collaborators to a project and you want them to have more limited access to the project. The problem with this strategy is that the team members who have been invited as clients will see milestones and tasks for other team members because they are considered clients by the system. The fix for this is to invite the team members to at least one project as a team member. Doing so will cause the system to consider them to be team members and will force their upcoming lists to only show their milestones and tasks.

RSS Feed of Recent Activity

When you subscribe to the recent activity RSS feed with an RSS reader, you'll be able to stay up to date on all the activities that occur in your projects.

For example, your activity feed will automatically be updated when a comment is added to a document, a task is completed, or a file is uploaded. When your RSS reader software refreshes your feed, you'll see what actions your project members have taken on your projects — all without having to log into TeamWork Live.

A special note about web-based feed readers: You should not subscribe to this RSS feed with a web-based RSS reader that doesn't guarantee the privacy of your feeds (otherwise other people or search engines may be able to see your data). You should confirm your feed will be kept private with the company that provides your feed reader service.
