Transitioning From Basecamp
There are some differences between Basecamp and TeamWork Live that we want to highlight for you so that your transition between the two tools can be as smooth as possible. You can see a list of the major differences from the Basecamp alternative page.Messages
One of the major differences between Basecamp and TeamWork Live is in how the messaging functionality works. In Basecamp, messages are public topics that can be categorized and commented on. Every project member can view all non-private messages and all team members can view all private messages. In TeamWork Live, messages are more akin to emails. Every project member has his or her own private message inbox within each project workspace. Users can send messages to specific users, to all team members, or to all team members and clients. Only the recipient of a message can view the message—this differs from Basecamp where all users can view all messages.
You can send messages about any item in TeamWork Live and the message will automatically be linked to the item for easy access. For example, if you send a team member a message about a task, your team member will be able to easily access the task in question when reading the message. This way, you will always have related information close at hand, which will save you time from having to search for it.
