What is the purpose of archiving?

Over time, your workspace can become cluttered with old or completed milestones, tasks, and documents. You can archive items that you no longer need by clicking on the [archive] link in the upper-left corner of each item from the detail page. Archived items no longer appear in your workspace (archived events will continue to appear in your calendars however).

Can I still access archived items?

Yes, you can access your archived items from the archives, which can be reached from the "Admin" tab drop-down menu. You can also find archived items from the search page by searching with "my archived items" selected in the search options.

What is the auto-archival feature?

The auto-archival feature allows you to automate the archiving of items that are completed or no longer relevant. Items that may not be relevant anymore include completed milestones and tasks, past events, and any time-sensitive information that you give an expiration date. When an expires, it will be automatically archived based on your criteria. Supported options are immediately, after one day, after one week, and never. You can modify your auto-archival preference from your preferences.

When do milestones, tasks, events, and pages expire?

Milestones and tasks expire when they have been marked as completed. Note that overdue milestones and tasks are different from expired ones: an overdue item simply means that it is past its due date, whereas an expired milestone or task has been completed and ready for archiving. Events expire when the event has past. Documents expire only if they have been given an expiration date. Expired tasks, events, and documents are archived according the archival settings.

What are my options for setting when my pages get auto-archived?

Immediately upon expiration — Completed milestones and tasks are archived immediately; other items are archived at the end of the night.
One day after expiration — All expired items are archived 24 hours after expiration.
One week after expiration — All expired items are archived after a week. This is useful if you like to keep completed items around temporarily for further reference.
Never — Expired items are never archived.

Can I restore an archived item?

Yes, you can restore archived items from your archives. Click the [restore] link on the item to restore the item to the folders it was in before being archived. Items that have been restored will not be auto-archived again.

Do files attached to archived items count against my storage space

Yes, you must delete archived items to free up the space used by the attached files.
